Boccantino Primitivo Susumaniello Salento IGT 2023 is a modern expression of southern Italy, combining the richness of Primitivo with the freshness and structure of the native Susumaniello grape. Sourced from Salento in Puglia, the wine delivers ripe dark cherry and plum, subtle spice, and a smooth, rounded palate lifted by balanced acidity and gentle tannins. Approachable yet characterful, it’s a versatile, food-friendly red designed to overdeliver on flavour and authenticity.

Produced by Boccantino, the focus is on showcasing regional Italian character through polished, accessible wines that resonate with both consumers and the trade.

Salento wine comes from Italy's Salento peninsula in Puglia, known for powerful reds from grapes like Primitivo (like Zinfandel) , Negroamaro and Susumaniello, offering rich dark fruit, spice, and smooth finishes, alongside whites (Fiano, Verdeca) and rosés, often under the flexible Salento IGT designation. These wines reflect the warm climate and limestone soils, moving from bulk production to high-quality, food-friendly bottled options that pair well with Mediterranean cuisine, braised meats, and cheeses.
